Keri York

Lands Program Director

Keri has worked to conserve and steward land for fish and wildlife habitat, open space, agriculture, and recreation since 2008. A Hailey native, Keri grew up along the banks of the Big Wood River and hiking through our sagebrush hills.  After high school, Keri obtained a B.S. in Marine Biology from Jacksonville University and M.S. in Environmental Science from Washington State University, where her thesis research focused on deep-water fish and invertebrate communities.  Before returning to Idaho, she worked for the National Marine Fisheries Service in Oregon and California.  She began working in Idaho for The Nature Conservancy at Silver Creek Preserve and afterwards started at the Wood River Land Trust.  Some of her notable accomplishments at the Land Trust include acquisitions of the Valley Creek Preserve, the Rinker Rock Creek Ranch, Timmerman Ranch and Champagne Creek/Timbered Dome.  She has also held leadership roles in the Pioneers Alliance and the Wood River Water Collaborative.  She is excited to lead new land and stewardship initiatives focused on climate resiliency, native pollinators, big game migration, and soil health.  Along with her trusty field assistant, Winston, Keri enjoys biking, camping, gardening, and skiing, and being a firefighter/EMT at Wood River Fire and Rescue.
