Community Planning: Managing Growth for Conservation

Join the Land Trust for a conversation about the NEW Community Planning program. Program director, Cece Osborn, will explain the connections between conservation, sustainable growth and quality of life in the valley. Plus, she will review the scope of focus for the program and this year's priorities:

• Evaluating measures to decrease the number of wildlife vehicle collisions on State Highway 75.
• Encouraging a revamp of the County’s Transfer of Development Rights program to incorporate a bank, communications hub, and the south valley cities.
• Evaluating the nexus between new market-rate development, job generation, and community housing needs.

Community planning is another tool that we can leverage to manage growth and follow-through on our promise of conservation in perpetuity.
