Trout Friendly Yard Certification
We are excited to announce that we are revamping the Trout Friendly Yard Certification with new criteria, to be launched in Spring 2025.
We are coordinating with community partners in local government, the Climate Action Coalition, local businesses, and fellow non-profits so that the Trout Friendly criteria will complement and support their efforts to encourage landscaping that is sustainable for our community and local ecosystems.

The Trout Friendly Yard Certification encourages:
-
water conservation,
-
native plantings, and
-
"trout friendly" practices that reduce and improve the quality of runoff that affects our aquifer, Big Wood River and its tributaries.

With the revamp of the certification criteria, we are considering the hazard mitigation (e.g. of wildfires and floods), as well as supporting partners' efforts to grow food locally. If you're familiar or interested in the program, we'd love to hear your feedback! Please take a moment to take our survey.
