Now in its 12th year, our Heart of the Valley (HOV) photo contest lives on! Generously sponsored by Zions Bank, we have expanded the HOV format from an annual contest to a monthly contest.
We’ve received almost 100 photos over the last couple of months, and more keep flooding in. We sure do have a lot of talented folks in the Wood River Valley! Be sure to check out the digital frames at both Zions’ locations (Hailey and Ketchum), as well as the Hailey Visitor Center, for the latest submissions.
You can also visit the Heart of the Valley page on our website, which shows all HOV submissions to date.
Whether it’s a leisurely stroll with your dog in the Draper Wood River Preserve, or an epic hike with your crew up Mt. Borah, we want to see how you capture our beautiful valley and its surrounding areas. Everyone from professionals to amateurs has participated in the Heart of the Valley contest over the years, and we hope you will, too.
We choose three winners every month, and hand out fun Land Trust-related prizes. Some months are themed and other months include seasonal writing components. Stay tuned for updates on our Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter pages!
When Crystal Thurston, one of our September winners, discovered she had won, she excitedly wrote, “You made my day!” Not only is it great to see such amazing photos of our home, it’s fun to meet people so passionate about capturing it.
We’re excited to announce that our first theme under the new format will be “First Snow” during the month of November. Send in shots of a snowcapped Baldy or your friends building a snowman in the backyard – we want to see what you love about the Valley!
When you submit photos for the contest, we do reserve the right to use those shots in our publications or social media posts. But we’ll always give you credit when we do!
To submit photos you can either:
- Post a photo on Instagram or Facebook and use #LovetheLandTrust or tag us @woodriverlandtrust
- Email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
